Billing and Insurance

Everything you need to know about finances and treatment

Covering Your Care

When it comes to health insurance, the Health Works team is here to help you navigate the hassle. All of our services are FSA/HSA eligible and may be reimbursed by your insurance provider. We bill all insurance plans as an out-of-network provider.

Here’s what you can expect from our Billing Department:

We charge a one-time $200 new patient fee at the time you book your first appointment.

The new patient fee is waived for Military and all other service personnel as my way of saying thank you for your service.

The new patient fee does not cover the cost of your first visit.

Integrative care such as ours is uncommon, and most integrative practices are cash only. Because we have a mission to serve and change the way chronic disease is approached, we have worked hard to develop a hybrid practice accepting insurances but also acknowledging there are out of pocket expenses.

We are happy to discuss a financial plan with you prior to treatment.

We do not participate in Medicare or Medicaid. If you have Medicare or Medicaid you will need to pay cash in full for services received.

For most plans, claims are paid according to your out of network benefits subject to your deductible. We do “balance bill” any amount not paid by your insurance company for the difference between your visit charge and the amount your insurance pays; the fee schedule is listed below.

Remember: This is YOUR insurance plan and each policy is different. We cannot guarantee reimbursement. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER BEFORE YOUR VISIT.

ServiceSelf-PayInsurance
New Patient Visit (1 hour)$150$150
20-minute visit$125$175
30-minute visit$175$225
40-minute visit$235$285

The $50 insurance billing fee is complementary for your New Patient Visit.

For those whom self pay you will be provided a super bill you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Outstanding balances will be automatically charged to the card on file once your EOB is processed.

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Your time, as well as ours, is extremely valuable. Please remember that when an appointment is canceled without proper notice, a patient on the waiting list may miss the opportunity to receive an appointment they have been waiting to schedule.

We require 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours’ notice, or miss their appointment, may be charged a cancellation fee.

1st late cancellation/no-show = 50% of appointment fee

2nd late cancellation/no-show = 75% of appointment fee

3rd late cancellation/no-show = 100% of appointment fee
